Learn About Senegal Parrot - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Learn About Senegal Parrot A popular type of bird is the Senegal Parrot. They are African birds, like the African Greys. They're Poicephalus parrots and there's a lot of birds in the Poicephalus family, but we seem to sell mostly Senegal Parrots. They're very friendly little birds, very happy, easy-going in general, not particularly loud, a little bit of talking ability, but not quite the level of the Greys. I wouldn't say they're particularly easier to take care of, but you need less of a, a smaller cage than an African Grey. They're not going to be quite as destructive when it comes to toys. But probably about the same level of care. And that's the Senegal Parrot.
